Nicole Ari Parker is an American stage and television actor known for her performance as the spirited lawyer Teri Joseph on the Showtime show Soul Food. After her wedding to her husband, she was referred to by the name Nikki Kodjoe. She was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland she showed an aptitude for acting in her childhood and received a Best Actress prize at an Maryland high school competition. She earned her acting degree from the New York University after working in the Washington Ballet Company' and in theatre. The Incredibly True Adventure of Two Girls in Love was a film that earned her a top-quality role. Later came films such as "Boogie Nights Spark and Blue Streak. Soul Food was an immensely popular TV series. Her appearances also appeared in TV series like Second Time Around" and Empire. Prior to that, she was in numerous stage productions. Parker is also involved in politics, is married to model and actor Boris Kodjoe. They have two daughters.

Contractor, born at Mumbai in India and grew up in Nigeria through the age of seven. She'd been exposed to numerous travel experiences and other cultures since a young age. After attending boarding school for seven years in London the family moved to Toronto Canada in which she lived for the majority of her childhood as well as her early years of adulthood. Contractor was a wonderful student in Toronto and trained to be a classical ballet dancer. She attended the Etobicoke School of the Arts in Toronto, a school of the arts focused on theater and dance. Contractor took the decision to study acting more seriously at the age of 16 following almost 10 years dancing. When she graduated from high school, Contractor was awarded a scholarship by the University of Toronto to pursue the dual field of sociology and psychology. She also earned a Master's degree in Theatre. Contractor was a participant in the highly acclaimed Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Ontario, Canada, for Pericles. After one full year of auditions, she was offered the lead part. The show she played in 92 performances were praised by Canadian critics. The actress accepted an invitation to join Stratford's conservatory. It is a place that allows only four males and eight women can take a 20 weeks crash course of classical theater. Contractor's participation in the next play-season was confirmed and she was cast in the role of Hermia from A Midsummer Night's Dream.
